Lets congratulate these three girls for their selection in the 2011 under 21 Australian Squad and as the only Victorians in the team, well done girls. All three travelled to New Zealand recently to compete in the three test series against New Zealand. They all played brilliant games with Stephanie receiving player of the match in the third test. Steph is now off to Singapore next week to play in a competition as a curtain raiser for the Worlds.

Sarah Main has recently been called up to play in the 19U Australian Team – they are playing 3 games against the Samoan National Team on Fri, Sat and Sun at the AIS. Congratulations Sarah.

    MICAELA WILSON PLAYS FOR VIXENS

Some exciting news from our squad of talented VNL players, with Micaela Wilson and Stephanie Puopolo picked in the Melbourne Vixens team and travelling to New Zealand for Monday night’s game against the Central Pulse. While both girls were excited just to be selected, the news got better for Micaela when she was named to start at goal keeper and played the entire game alongside Vixens co-captain Bianca Chatfield. The Vixens came from behind to snatch a 49-48 win. Their selection comes off the back of impressive seasons in Yarra Valley Grammar Ariels’ championship side, with Stephanie dominating in goals and currently sitting third on the league goal shooting table, while Micaela has held down the goal keeper position in a team set to play finals in just a few weeks’ time. Both players have been with Ariels since their early junior netball years.
